Cheshire Cat Moon by Kara Barnard  

Cheshire Cat Moon was recorded in 1991. Cheshire Cat Moon produced by Kara and Grey Larsen, has a gentle folk flavor. Sister Pam Barnard sings back-up vocals, Abby Peach handles the percussion and Grey sits in on several tracks.

 


 

The Water's Edge  

The Water's Edge is Kara's 1997 release and first with guitarist Troy Seele. Recorded at The Medicine Lodge, these songs have a harder edge than her other recordings. Popular with radio programmers, The Water's Edge was produced by Kara.

 


 

Home by Kara Barnard  

Home, Kara's third CD, also recorded at the Medicine Lodge, was released in November of 1999 and continues her collaboration with Troy Seele. The 18 tracks include some of Kara's best songwriting.

This CD marks the emergence of the bluegrass flavor evident in much of her later work.


 


 

Fret Hopping in Brown County by Kara Barnard  

Fret Hopping in Brown County, CD number four, is a solo instrumental disc recorded at Softsound Studio with Le Isaac Weaver (Marg Herder) engineering.  Every instrument on every track of this CD was played by Kara.

Released in March of 2001, the disc features 22 tunes, from original solo fingerstyle guitar pieces to new arrangements of bluegrass standards.

 


 

Dishpan Brigade by Kara Barnard and Wishing Chair  

Dishpan Brigade, Kara's fifth CD, is an exciting collection of traditional bluegrass tunes and originals, recorded with Wishing Chair (Kiya Heartwood and Miriam Davidson) at Terrakin Farm with Kiya engineering.

Released in June of 2003, the disc is full of great energy and amazing musicality. It's sold out.



 

Brown County Waltz by Kara Barnard  

Brown County Waltz, Kara's sixth CD, features 20 more bluegrass influenced instrumental selections. Released in June of 2004. the disc has a more laid back feel than Fret Hopping.

The disk was recorded by Mandy Miller and Dionne Ward at Swirling Turtle Studios, Indianapolis, Indiana. Brown County Waltz was mixed by Dave Weber at Airtime Studio in Bloomington, Indiana.



 

Flying Down King Street by Kara Barnard  

Flying Down King Street is Kara's 2007 release. The disk features nice new songs and 10 previously released favorites. Most of the tunes feature sister Pam Barnard Hays on backing vocals.

This disc is a great overview of Kara's songwriting work over the years, a must-have for every collector.
